Say what actually happened

ClassTested runs on honest reports from real classrooms. The most useful comment names the age group, the subject, what you did and what changed. "Worked brilliantly" and "fell flat" are both welcome, and both get more useful when you say what happened around them.

Rate a technique once you have tried it with a real class. The stars ask how effective it has been for you, and each rating carries your phase and subject, so your two stars as a primary generalist inform other primary teachers instead of vanishing into an average. A low rating with the story attached is exactly the kind of contribution this site exists for.

Protect every student

Never post anything that could identify a child: no names or initials, no school name beside a recognisable description, no detail so specific that a parent or colleague could work out who you mean. Before you post about a student, reread it and ask whether someone from your school could recognise them. If they could, rewrite until they could not.

The same care goes for adults. Do not name your school, your colleagues or your leadership, in praise or in complaint. You post under a pseudonym so that you can be honest; give the people you mention the same protection.

Disagree with ideas, warmly

Teachers here span every phase, subject and country, so disagreement will be common, and it is welcome. Challenge the claim, offer your counter-example, ask what the other person's class was like. Address the idea rather than the teacher. Sarcasm lands harder in writing than it does in the staffroom, so read your reply once more before posting.

Vote for what's useful, not what you agree with

The arrows under a comment sort the discussion for the next reader. Upvote what would help a colleague, including comments you disagree with; a detailed two-star account from someone who gave a technique a fair run deserves to be seen. Downvoting a comment because it criticises a technique you love buries information the next teacher needs.

Write your own words

Summarise ideas in your own words and say where they came from. A short quotation with credit is fine. Pasting pages from books, training materials or paywalled articles is not, and we remove it. Link to sources instead of reproducing them.

No selling

No advertising, affiliate links or promotion. If you made a free resource that directly answers a question in the thread, you may share it once, say it is yours, and leave it there.

How moderation works

Every comment has a Report link, and reports go to a moderator, who usually acts within two days. A removed comment shows "[removed by moderators]" in its place, so moderation is always visible and nothing is silently deleted. Heavily downvoted comments collapse behind a "show anyway" link; that is the community's judgement rather than ours, and you can always look.

If you ever delete your account, your ratings are kept with no link back to you, and your comments stay in place under the name "[deleted]". Delete individual comments first if you also want the words gone.
